The Halo Loft

The Halo Loft is a high-rise apartment in downtown San Francisco, designed for a tech entrepreneur who wanted a space that could shift atmospheres from day to night. The brief emphasized lighting as the primary design tool to define zones, moods, and architectural rhythm.

We implemented a layered lighting strategy using recessed LED strips, sculptural pendants, and smart dimming systems. A custom halo fixture above the dining area became the focal point, casting soft radial shadows that animate the space. The bathroom features backlit mirrors and indirect cove lighting for a spa-like experience.

This project demonstrates how lighting can transform spatial perception and emotional tone, turning a minimalist loft into a dynamic living environment.
