The Elmwood Sanctuary

Commissioned by a nature-loving client, The Elmwood Sanctuary is a private residence nestled in the wooded hills of Portland. The homeowner envisioned a retreat that would harmonize with the surrounding landscape while offering a refined, contemporary living experience.

We approached the design with a focus on biophilic principles, integrating large glass panels, natural timber finishes, and organic textures throughout the home. The open-concept living area flows seamlessly into an outdoor deck, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior. Custom-built cabinetry and furniture were crafted from reclaimed wood, adding warmth and character to each space.

This project not only fulfilled the client’s desire for a peaceful sanctuary but also demonstrated how thoughtful design can elevate everyday living. The Elmwood Sanctuary now stands as a testament to sustainable luxury and architectural sensitivity to place.
